Yup, I do mine in the micro first for a minute then toaster oven til browned and bubbly at 350 ish. I like mine a bit more browned than most.
I really wanted to love this place, because I drove a 1/2 an hour to get here. I love pasties. I just didn't love these pasties. I grew up loving them, and that's one of the reasons I wanted to love these. I've been looking for a great place to find great pasties, and so far, no success. There was a lot of meat and a lot of potatoes inside and the crust was palatable. The problem was that they are just too dry. You should be able to just pick them up and eat them maybe have something to drink with them, but not necessarily. With these pasties, You must slather than in gravy, have something to drink, ladel them with butter, or something. They are just so very dry! After hearing about this place and having wanted so very much to love them, I was so very disappointed that they weren't great as I had heard. I will keep looking for a really good pastie place.
Goid stuff right here !!
Quaint little shop with the best Pasties in Grass Valley!
An absolute grass valley classic. Been going there for probably 15 years, a family favorite for us. Great comfort food, cozy/traditional vibes. A must try for those who live in grass valley, one of my favorite low key spots to go when I visit.
I've Been going to Marshall's Pasties my whole life. They are so delicious. The customer service has always been amazing.
Great pasties. You definitely need gravy with it. A bit too many potatoes even for a self proclaimed potato lover
I absolutely love them! Their service was very welcoming. I couldn't help but play Sweeney Todd in the car eating!
The absolute best.
A nice meat pastie with vinegar
First experience and it was AMAZING!
My grandma owns this shop and she's amazing, the pasties are great I love them, I've lived off these things for years and I never get sick of them, high recommend
Never had a pasty before, got the beef, it was really good, better with the gravy they offer as a side. The folks inside were very nice!
Very good, traditional tasting Cornish-style pasties. Expensive though.
The best spot for quick pasties. A must stop each time we visit GV. Gravy is very good.
If you’re looking for a quick bite to eat, then swing on by Marshall’s pasties! Offering a delicious selection of meat and vegetable filled pastries, you can’t go wrong with a Marshall’s pasty.
best pasties in Grass Valley
I used to get local cornish pasties when I lived in northern Michigan (one of the origin places of the pasty) these are the closest to legitimate pasties I have found. It's amazing. You can get frozen or heated, buy in bulk or just one for a meal. They are very nice people. Don't go anywhere else!!!
Exceptional service. Fresh and super delicious.
I've been eating these pasties since I was a kid, Marshall's Pasties is the best!
Best pasties ever!! Great service! Very friendly!
Ooops! Ran out of stars - I'd go beyond 5. Having lived in England for over 30 years (and spent much time in Cornwall), Marshall's is my "go-to" pasty place. Quaint, authentic and tasty - please pass the vinegar."
DELICIOUS. Love the varieties and the fact that you can pick small or large sizes. Their sausage pasties are excellent, as are the turkey. The crust is flaky, buttery deliciousness and complements the fillings perfectly. Do yourself a favor and save room for an apple dessert pasties. Prices are very reasonable. Just an FYI, they are cash only!
Yum! Had these when I lived in GV as a kid. Finally took a 13 pack each of beef and chicken home to my family and they loved them.
Excellent food, friendly service, small dining area
We don't have anything like this bake home. I love the pasties.
The pasties are delicious and well worth $5.95 for a regular size pastie. Perfect amount of food for lunch at this price. My husband will order 2 on a hungry day because he eats more but will only get half way through the second unless he's really hungry. The only downfall is they are reheated which makes the crust a little less flakey when using a microwave but if you reheat at home in the oven or half microwave and half toaster oven, it turns out more flakey and delicious!
Delicious! And, wonderful staff.
These pasties aren't award-winning for nothing. The beef and apple pasties where amazing. Don't forget to order some gravy
Fast, cheap, tasty, grandma approved 👍
LOVE these pasties!
As an Englishman I've had Cornish pasties in Cornwell, Marshalls are the closest you're going to get to those they're delicious
Been eating Marshall's Pasties since I was a kid. The crust is always perfect and the stuffing tasty. Excellent comfort food! Tried the gravy on it for the first time today and it was great, but personally I prefer ketchup and vinegar. :) Marshall's has been around a long time, and for a darn good reason. Great food, great service.
My mother made these until she passed away and Marshalls have the closest thing to hers. Delicious and filling and they freeze extremely well. I make a trip from the Bay Area just to stock up on them.
Just like I remember from when Mom worked there in 1985. Great food and price.
The pasties! I love the light, flaky crust! Quaint and cozy atmosphere. I recommend buying an extra one for later!
Small town feeling, and pasties are the best!
The best pasties. Friendly staff and great prices.
This place is worth trying. They serve large portions for convenient rates. Consistently well organized and with great atmosphere. Will visit here again.
Having grown up in GV and lived for years in the UK, I love the taste of a Marshall's Paste. Even if it wasn't authentic in taste (it is), it would still be delicious.
My brother Capt. John FitzGerald Placer County Sheriff's Office, used to eat your pasties to keep us going ... I was a mine geologist and he was a Sheriff's Capt ... Unfortunately, John died from brain cancer ... way too soon ... highly decorated Officer. We loved your pasties.
These are the best pasties in all of Northern California. Don't be fooled by this place oh, it's been here for 50 years. One of the many best kept secrets of Grass Valley.
I grew up in Nevada City and LOVED me some Marshall's Pasties! Whenever I return home to visit (30 years later) we make sure to buy a dozen, and bring a frozen dozen back to Pennsylvania with us to enjoy. You just can't get these anywhere on the east coast that I have found. Highly recommended
Great service, fast, delicious food, and tons of history! I love this place from the bottom of my heart and the people who work here the food makes me keep coming back!
There literally is no parallel to the quality of food and customer service you get here and I've been a lot of places.
Good service but the food is simply not worth it. Take the veggie pastie, it tastes like boiled nothing. Add some flavors! Add some spice! Add curry, make the dough thinner and crispy, bake to order.
Best in town...been eating them all my life
Had the Ham and Cheese Padtie. Not much flavor.
Very neat and accessible restaurant. They serve large meals and for economical prices. I loved the menu very much and the waiters were very attentive and chatty. I recommend this place.
My favorite is the broccoli cheese pasties. If you're ever in GV Marshall's Pasties is a must! Their apple pasties are really yummy too!
Five star experience! Quick easy and delicious. Perfect for a bite on the go. Also they have a few seats indoors if you wanted to sit and eat.
